Typical timeframe to replace harmonic balancer

The way I see it, failure prone parts usually fail at the most inopportune times. Therefore, even though my '01 C-5 just turned 31,000 miles, I replaced the balancer about 4 years ago.

Agreed. Like when your nearest tow truck is halfway across the Mojave Desert, or you're picking up your lady friend for your 2nd or 3rd date!!!

Mr. Murphy, take a bow!!! As for time, I'd say at least 5 hours. Problem is, there's always the "while I'm in there" factor!!

Ya. Check out my thread on this issues. Mine was age not mileage as I only have 67k, but 24 years! Mine moved forward and hit the steering arm
$1,700 at the local mechanic. 6 hrs labor.
