I know you typically DON"T want your Check Engine Light to come on! But, to pass Atlanta emissions your CEL at least has to turn on when you turn the key to on (, but you don't start the car). I know it use to do this (i.e. turn on momentarily), but of course when I go to renew my emissions it doesn't turn on. Is there a specific fuse for this maybe, or could the bulb for that just be out? BTW, I am getting a "service vehicle soon" on the DIC, and my ride is a 2001 Z06
There is a fuse but if the IP is working except for the MIL it’s not the fuse !!…the ground for the bulb is controlled by the MIL Control computer driver inside the PCM…most likely the bulb but it can be a bad driver or wiring anywhere in the circuit…the circuit goes through the underhood fuse box so that may be a cause…start with the easy stuff first…there is a DTC for the MIL light…it is a P0650…do you see that stored ???
