I have been trying to fix the passenger side A/C to get it to blow cold, currently it only blows hot. I had read a few posts on here about removing the #27 fuse amd clearing the dic. When I clear the dic the passenger and drivers side will blow cold air for about 5 seconds. I don't hear any clicking or grinding from the passenger side either. Any ideas other than taking the dash apart to replace the part and hope it fixes it?
Did you check the "freon" level?
If it's low, you can also experience similar symptoms. Maybe all you need is a re-charge.
It's been my experience that when the 134a is low on a C5 with the dual zone A/C, the drivers side will be a bit warmer than the right side. OP, did you leave fuse 27 out for a minimum of 5 minutes? This is a must. Also, did you pull fuse #27 IN THE FOOTWELL, NOT under the hood? Hope this helps........
The freon is full I just replaced the compressor and radiator so I has a shop clean everything out from the old compressor going bad. They also charged the system and checked for leaks. I only saw to leave the fuse out for 60 seconds but I'll try the 5 min. I did remove the one under the passenger side foot well though.
I can hear it in the footwell kinda reset click when I clear the codes. After that the air goes from hot to cold, then about 5 seconds later or so it goes back to hot.
If you remove the glovebox and look towards the left you can see the passenger actuator gear…see if it moves when you adjust the temp..what part of Florida ??…if your in the Southwest bring it by and I’ll look at it for you.
I'm over in Tampa Bay area. I looked at it while changing the temp but I didn't see anything move but I could hear different levels of air flow. I also didn't really know what to look at for movement.
So you removed the glovebox and looked ??…you should see the gear rotate as you change the temp…a scan tool that can read the actuator “counts” or voltage will help in a diagnosis.
I cheated! I cut my hose going to the coolant tank, and put a shutoff valve in the hose. With the valve off, no coolant to the heater core. If ya need heat, open the valve. Easy peasy. I am getting all new blend doors in the spring, but this works excellent, and all it took was a razor knife, a $10 shutoff valve from TSC (?), and 2 hose clamps. Works for me......
