Default Katech Tensioner

Hello,

I am going to replace my stock tensioner because it is making a strange noise. Does anybody have the tensioner from Xtreme on their engine? If so how do youlike it and will it work well on a street driven car? I noticed it is marked as race only.

All help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You may get more responses over in the forced induction section. The fact that it says race only has more to do with the manufacturer avoiding problems with state and/or federal governments. Since the use of the tensioner would have no environmental inpact you should not let that be a concern .

I actually have one of the tensioners I purchased for a procharger installation and decided not to use it based upon some posts over in forced induction section. If you over torque the fixed tensioner you could very well damage the accessories running off the belt (pre-mature bearing wear etc.)

I would go with a stock replacement if I were you. You might post over in the Sale/Wanted section and get one cheap from someone who has done a SC conversion. Just my 2 cents. :D:D
