HVAC issues dual climate control
I got a call from the shop yesterday my corvette was ready to be picked up. Guy tells me the actuators have been replaced, the system has been checked. Heater, defroster, and air conditioning have been tested and are working perfectly. Awesome!
My wife and I decided to take our newly fixed C5 Corvette and go to dinner and for a nice evening drive. As it got later, it was getting cold outside and I noticed my windshield was fogging up, so I turned on the defroster. To my dismay, the defroster, the heater, and the air conditioner are not working correctly. No matter what you set the temperature to, it just blows cold air. Basically the same thing it was doing before I took it to the shop.
This morning I went out to the car to replace the interior temp sensor cover, and it appears that the temperature sensor is missing. I am assuming the system won’t work properly if this is disconnected or missing? I’m going to pull the panel later to check what is going on. If it is missing, the shop and I are going to have a very frank talk about why they had my car for over a week and did not get this fixed.
