Let me know what you find out, I am dying to change mine to a 6 speed. I would think the change from manual to auto would be fairly simple, minus computer issues.
From what I hear, it's time to sell your car...then start over with the tranny you want...even with your upgrades, it is probably the best idea...plus you can change color if you want, get a newer one, less miles etc...c5's are cheap right now, so take advantage.
Honestly I have already been thinking about a RWD tube frame car sporting a fiberglass 2nd gen Eclipse Body powered by a turbo inline 4. I know I can build a 700rwhp 4 banger just need the chassis to put it in.

My car was converted by Cartek, from a MN6 to an A4. Call, and talk to Dave out there. My car has a seperate control unit for the trans, made by TCI. If you go to http://www.tciauto.com, and look under "electronics" it tells all about the box.
The MN6 to A4 swap costs about 7K at Mallett or LPE ... I dont know that is invloved ... but I do know that it costs a good amount ...
Since Phil can do all the work himself, knock this price in half or more to complete it ;)
I know that the Fbody guys have done this a bunch. If you have an MN6 and go Auto you can still use your PCM and modify it ot accept the auto in LS1Edit but if you do the opposite you need to have an A4 PCM.
Last summer at the Corvette Challenge/ Vette mag Day at Englishtown I saw a black FRC with an A4. The car was a Cartec prepaired car. For info try Julio at 908-654-9993/ 908-317-4496 or Fax. 918-317-4497. I have seen their cars run at Etown and Atco and they scream....
