Put new TPMS in my 99 and have been trying to 'learn' using the on board computer Follow the proper steps and when it says LF take my magnet and nothing happens is the magnet supposed to stick to the wheel or the valve stem? I It desnt program and now when driving I get a message about RF tire flat and reduced power showing I bought the TPMS form a vendor not dealer so did I get the wrong ones or am I doing it wrong PIMA !!!!!
How big is your magnet"Sometimes you have to move the magnet to different locations to get it to work.I have had better luck with the magnet placed on the outside of the tire next to the sensor.
its a 65 lb magnet I bought from HF had to pry it off my toolbox with a screw driver It doesnt attach to anything on the aluminum wheel or valve stem thanks very aggravating
I bought mine from Tirerack. I did notice that with the Schrader brand there is a warning about how they look the same from C5 to C6. I wonder if the ebay seller gave you the wrong c6 ones as they look the same from the outside???
Note: Note: Schrader has changed the body style for the 1997-2000 C5 Corvette sensor to match the C6 sensor. While external shape is identical the internal sensor components differ and they are not interchangeable. Please verify the part number on the sensor is correct for the intended vehicle application.
Same problem here. Purchased a supposed correct set on Ebay, will not program. Although 315 Mhz tire shop said they are for Cadillac and will not work. Purchased another set from Rockauto, Genuine GM with correct part numbers and they still will not program. Go to learning mode on dash with the sensors on top of the fenders, used hand held battery program tool and magnets but horn will not beep and dash message will not change. Help please. This already has cost quite a few bucks. Wish I could delete this option!

It was suggested to me That I could have a faulty remote control door lock receiver. This module receives the sensors signals (supposed to). We will give this a shot!
I will pick up and install receiver tomorrow. I will post results!
I think that I found the problem. I purchased a receiver/module and went to install. It appears someone was in this system previous and installed a completely different non GM module, cut the wire end and installed a different connector. I will obtain the correct pigtail and bring the car back to factory spec..
The saga continues.

The receiver on the car was not correct. After installing the correct receiver, soldering in a matching pigtail and plug, install 4 oem correct year tire pressure sensors. They all programed with a magnet. Did I mention that purchasing the correct fobs was also necessary?
A lot of expense and effort, but all is good.
Im attempting to do the same you can change to the 01-04 receiver 433mhz with the correct pigtail as i a have a spare one. I dont have a key fob the 99 new is 90$ and the cheap 15-30$ 01-04 key fobs function alot cheaper option as well as later model tire sensors are cheaper. I would think it'd be an upgrade as they're newer design but does alter factory parts.
When I replaced the ones in my 02, Discount Tire told me that the new aftermarket ones do not learn with a magnet.
Not sure how true that is. They programmed mine with a tool when they installed them. All in on labor and programming $ 75.00 for all 4 corners.
