Default Headlight trouble.

I installed new led headlight bulbs in my 2001 corvette and now the headlight doors won’t close. Also one of the new bulbs flickers. Any ideas?

What kind of bulbs did you install? Did you change them because the old ones didn't work? Anything unusual happen during install?

Default Headlight trouble

I replaced the stock bulbs because they were so dim I had to keep the brights on. Everything was good until I got to the last bulb. I then noticed that the bulb was flickering and the headlight doors wouldn’t close. I have ordered a canbus decoder from Walmart. Any suggestions?

The LED and HID bulbs do not have enough resistance to tell the computer they are on to initiate the "close" sequence. Oftentimes, an in-line resistor is required to be installed (on the passenger side) in the headlight wiring to give a signal booster. There are several on the market. See this one from Kight Drive https://www.knightdrivetv.com/produc...or-c5-corvette

Try putting the brights on and then turn the lights off. Most likely it will work. LED bulbs don't draw enough voltage to close in the dim setting. Not sure about the flickering bulb. Maybe check to make sure the connection is tight.

You might be able to wire a relay into the harness that allows all 4 lights to shine at once. It may be enough to trick the PCM into closing the doors, and it will help with illumination. I've had mine on since 2005, and it works fine......
