ok i'm going with the amazon seats. i would like to eliminate the functions (memory stuff) of the factory seats so i won't have electrical problems.just finished the rocking seat fix and there were two connections under there. don't remember a seat belt wire, my focus was on the rocking fix. please correct me if i'm wrong but it looks like fuse 35 (drivers) and fuse 36 (pass) will work for me when removed. not too sure about fuse 3 (lumbar) and fuse 4 (seat control module) needs to be removed. this is a base model c5 with the memory seat functions. i don't want to **** the computer off and have DIC messages and trouble codes with this swap. i would say my factory seats are in good shape but they look very tired. thanks for advice. Denny
You can replace the seat covers and cushions essentially restoring the seats to new with the existing frames and avoid the electrical jury rigging you are about to embark upon.
My corvette had the same power memory seats and I swapped them for Corbeau Evolution X manual seats. You can just leave the connector under the seat unplugged and be fine. No warnings on the dash - not even a seat belt warning. I didn't remove any fuses.
thanks for the reply. twice the cost and have to find an upholsterer. not an easy task in this part of the woods. 15w40 says no problem with electric. i'll try that. thanks again

You can leave the scm (seat control module) plugged in (to retain the telescoping steering wheel function) or remove it, same goes for the single wire for the seat belt buckle. It won't throw any codes or cause any errors.

thanks for the reply jdewolf. don't have the telescopic steering wheel function. thats what i'll do. some say the module will be looking for the right setting and run the battery down.i'll be on the lookout for that. thanks again
Which amazon seats are you getting or do you have and what brackets? The 170$ ones i see them install on youtube where you have to use the passenger as the drivers seat for the recliner room? Do you have a link to them and the brackets?
these were 365.00 i think. i'll get the info and and reply it to you. brackets came from e-bay. they are the same and are for a c5. they are easy to find. just google amazon racing seats for c5 corvette. mine are black w/red. my vette is torch red. i think they are very nice. many color choices. google amazon seat install and you'll see many installs. yes pass goes to drivers and visa versa. the install appears to be very easy. i'll get back to you when i get home.
