Window regulator adjustment ????
Its Just a window regulator How hard could it be? So a skimmed over the door panel removal procedure in the book and dove into it.
Easy peazy right???
I changed the regulator no problems put every thing back together no issues goes up and down works great. Drive the car window whistles!
Closely inspected window and the window was a little low in window seal from old regulator window wear marks.
So I take it apart and adjust window a little higher in the clamps and it fits great this second time in the old wear marks of the seal. put it all back together and its a little better BUT it still whistles really bad at about 80 mph window is pulling out.
During this last attempt I finally read the Book on actually changing the regulator it mentions measuring old regulator adjustments and then adjusting new regulator to match before installing the regulator. Well I failed to read that when I changed mine so I do not have those dimensions as the old regulator is now long gone in the trash PLUS I don't think it was correct anyway either as the window had sealing issues and it did whistle to begin with on the old regulator..
I can gently push on window from inside and its not up against the seal tight like it should be.
Any way Now I am forced to re-rig this regulator and start over with all the adjustments, The Chevy book does not cover this procedure in detail NOR does it explain what the adjustment screws does when screwed in or out clockwise or counter clockwise for the front and rear.adjustments Just to get inside car close door and perform the adjustments with door panel off.
I would think that screwing adjuster in (up) clockwise would Tilt the window in towards the seal ? can anyone confirm this? or explain proper adjustment procedure.?

I guess I will just have to take the door panel off and play with it.
1: Cose the window
2: When closing the window, do NOT take your finger off the up button for at least 5 seconds after it stops. I use 7 seconds. Release button after 5 seconds (or 7
). This puts it at max closing pressure.Test and check for leaks. A body shop owner once told me he checked for leaks using a $1 bill. If there was drag everywhere, and it still whistled, he folded the bill once, top to bottom, in order to get a narrower strip, approximately a 1-1/2" wide, 6" long test strip. He'd check for window to seal clearance again by seeing if the bill pulled thru with a slight drag everywhere along the surface. FWIW, and hope this helps.......
