Steering colum sensor question. (prior owner damage discovered)
Now that I've got the steering column out of the car to replace it, I've noticed this sensor has more likely than not been swapped previously.
The initial giveaway was me having trouble removing the steering angle sensor and once I got it he column out, I realized why.
Looking at the plastic cradle on the end of the steering column (where the se sor untilstely seats), it looks like the previous owner broke it during the process, used some sort of Krazy Glue to fix it, and got a little on the sensor itself, so it was a little glued together. (which I assume is why it was hard to remove)
Honestly, I don't trust this thing to not break so I'm wondering if this is a part I can replaced or if I should replace the entire steering column.
I can JB weld it, if that'll increase my chances until I get a new column, but I'd really feel better if I could fix it right and for good.
Pic of the part (and some damage)
Never easy...

I found a replacement column locally for like 130 bucks, so I'll pick it up tomorrow and swap over all my switches and harnesses.
I'll report back tomorrow once it's back together.
What's broken is the plastic fitting it rides inside in order to do its job.
And I was right.
Once I tried to out it back in the the car, it bumped the dash and cracked it for good.
Super salty about it. 😂 😂 😂

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Forgot its new years weekend, so a ton of places are closed.
I found a local corvette parts company and they've got a telescopic column for cheap, so I'm going to pick that up and eventually wire the telescope feature to work.
While I was in there, I replaced the bad bulbs in the HVAC control gauge, chased down a loose bulb situstion in the cluster button back lighting, and de-gunked the fuel door release.
It was all like that when I got the car and this is the price you pay for buying something that sat for a bit. (previous owner had two kids back to back and the car moved into the garage for all that time)
