Default 99 Oil Leak

Well, in about a month's time of winter slumber, my car developed an oil leak, after I noticed a decent size puddle of oil in my driveway overnight after taking the car out of the garage.

I don't have a reliable way to jack the car up now, but from what I can see, the leak is coming from the driver side near the CAT/Manifold connection dripping near the oil pan/filter area. The oil was changed back in October, so I don't think it's the filter.

I am planning to get the car to my shop in early March for some other things, so will have it looked at then. In the meantime, any thoughts/ideas are appreciated, thank you.

Jacked up the car today with @njpete19 and was not able to clearly see the oil leak, though we were able to tighten the oil filter a little. I seem to only get oil on the driveway if the car is on an angle.

Sooooooo we're just not going to mention the C-clamp holding the exhaust together?

As for the issue-- have you tried looking while the car is running and the system is pressurized? There's so much of a mess there now it's pretty much impossible to clearly determine a source.

What I'd recommend is clean everything up really well. You can just blast it with brake cleaner until everything is clean. THEN start the car and look for evidence of a leak. My suspicion is that the oil filter is double-gasketed, but I've also had an oil filter with a defective gasket before that wouldn't seal.

The C-Clamp has been discussed in other threads, and I am well aware, it was a free gift with purchase from the prior owner

I am going to get the car to my local shop soon, need brakes anyway. But I am thinking something is up with the filter.

Is your Oil Pressure gauge working correctly? The pressure sending unit is on the top of the engine, driver’s side, right back at the firewall. Generally speaking, the sending units are junk. If you use a small telescoping mirror or one of those cheap cameras on a flexible stick, you can look back there and see if it started leaking.
