Under hood Ignition switched power source

I am going to be replacing my leaking water pump with an electric pump and was wondering if anyone had a good power source for switched power under the hood, preferably in the fuse box. Is fuse #22 a good source?

Not knowing what current is required for the water pump, makes answering this question impossible. Hopefully someone else has already done this will respond.

Good point! I will look it up, but it is just for the relay so it shouldn't really matter right? It only triggers the relay to run the pump off of the battery.

I would have to see a wiring diagram, but I believe you are right, the relay also has ratings as to how much current the contacts can handle. A Google search might prove helpful.

Found an old thread that explains how to power the elecyric water pump. Install an external relay and power it from the fuel pump relay, then supply power from the battery to run the water pump.
