No amount of pushing the pins holding it seems to move it. I put a screwdriver between the green pin and the housing next to the air vent and am pressing up on the bottom tab. It will not come out

Put the screwdriver or whatever you have handy right on the front of the hazard switch. Give it a firm tap. Should knock it loose.
Hit the sensor itself? Done it. With force and moving it around and everything.
Yes, on the front side. Where you would press to activate the switch. Actually towards the side where it is solid. Use a large screwdriver. Then a quick rap with the palm of your hand or a mallet.

Unfortunately for me it's still there and now the old switch won't work at all.
Edit: got the switch off. But now the installed switch is worse than the one I'm replacing. Previous switch was flashing rapidly on only the left side (I had already replaced the front left flasher bulb under the bumper and I have led taillights), this switch is flashing rapidly on both sides nows. Emergency lights work fine
