I would think not, but figured I’d ask. I just picked up a set of pre-Weld CCW Race Classics for my 02 vert. Problem I’m having is the front 17x9.5s have small .315” valve stem holes and need 8mm valve stems. Thus far I have found no 8mm stems that you can screw a sensor into. So it looks like my only option on the fronts are banded sensors.
The rear 18x10.5s have .453” holes so the standard size Vette bolt-in stem/sensor fits fine.
As long as they are both Vette compatible and on the same frequency, I figure there won’t be a problem. Anyone think otherwise?
Just had another thought that scares me. What about Dremel grinding the .315” hole out to .453?
As long as they are both Vette compatible and on the same frequency, I figure there won’t be a problem.
You're correct. They're (relatively) simple devices that transmit tire pressure telemetry over either 315 or 433 mhz using one of two modulation strategies.
You may have a tough time finding "strappable" sensors compatible with your 02 though. You need sensors configured for 315mhz FSK (modulation) with a two byte sensor ID and pressure PID only.
I found a solution and didn't need to mix them. Luckily I found an 8mm valve stem that allows for a bolt-in sensor. Everything is programmed and working fine now.
