Lubricate Door Hinges
WE just got some below freezing here in Seattle and my door squeaks!
Does anyone know the procedure and a recommendation of grease to use at the hinges?

One thing I've used with success is motorcycle chain lube. It sprays on as a thin penetrating oil like WD 40, and after several minutes coagulates into a thick grease.

I use Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease Spray on each of the hinges using the small plastic tube applicator. I wipe off the excess.

I recommend a marine lube that won't dry out. I lube the hinges once/year.

I’ve heard that recommendation before 👍. Do you have any particular brands you’d suggest, please?
Also, has anyone ever tried WD40’s white lithium grease?

I already suggested one of the best ones above. Yamalube is marine grease made by Yamaha.

Use a cheapo paint brush from the "bottom bin" at Home Depot to apply it. Helps to put it where you want it.

Common sense. The brush idea went over my head and I had used an equine needle and some Lucas marine grease. A brush would go right on easily though.

I don't like to make a mess in there. Lemon Pledge works great and with a quick wipe down looks great too

I use Lucas Oil 10320 Multi Purpose Marine Grease. You can find it on Amazon and I've also seen it at Advance Auto.

I'm not sure how you guys get grease in the hinge bushings with a brush. I use this on many things:
https://www.triflowlubricants.com/pr...t-drip-bottle/
I use it on my planes control surface hinges, cable guides, pulleys, Bicycle chains, Corvette door hinges. Works pretty good at a penetrating oil on rusty fasteners as well. Drip bottle works the best as the aerosol puts out to much material.
Don't lose the applicator straw:

DO NOT USE WHITE LITHIUM GREASE, it hardens up after time. Use any of the other suggestions. They will work better, longer and protect the surfaces.
