Default c5 battery charging

My name is Tim. My c5 needs a battery charge and I own a home auto charger. Can I just connect it to the positive and negative posts on the battery, set to charge a regular size battery and start charging? The equipment will tell me when it is 100% charged. Is this ok to do?

Welcome to the Forum, Tim, and congratulations on your C5!
You may want to ask your question in the Tech are of the C5 sections at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1997-2004-2/.
This is more of a general “hello” section.
That said, I do not see an issue with using a home battery charger to recharge your battery. Typically, if the battery is totally depleted I prefer to take the battery out of the car and set it on a wooden work table or on a couple of 2x4s.
Be aware C5s are known for pulling the charge of a battery down because of all the electronics in the car that still pull some amperage even with the ignition off. Hopefully you can get your battery fully charged and get your C5 out for a drive.
Be aware some batteries are bad to not hold a charge if they have been totally depleted before trying to recharge it.
When you ask this in C5 Tech a little more info would be helpful, such as: did you just get this car, what do you know about the battery’s past (age, any charging issues before, has the battery been fully discharged before, etc).
Best wishes for a quick and lasting recovery with your battery.

Welcome! Agree with above it should be fine to use your home charger to charge the battery. If it is significantly depleted you may want to take it to a local auto store and have it checked. Once recharged, connecting a battery tender to it may be helpful.
