Yes, you should have it installed. Cons are the alternator wont make full charge until a higher rpm, but 99% of the people on here will never notice. Only the big stereo guys seem to mind. Pros are a bit more horsepower.
Upgrade the timing set maybe while you're in there. I put in the dual roller RollMaster (requires slight mod to the pulley). I also swapped in a ported oil pump.
Replace the chain while you're in there with a single, hi-po chain. Several of the forum vendors sell upgraded chains. It's cheap insurance IMHO.
Also, I got the RollMaster chain/sprocket set from an Australian company for about $80, including shipping and it came in a week. The same set is available stateside for about the same price. :yesnod:

Re: What else during cam install?? (binksZ06)
How about some nice Comp 'R' hydraulic lifters (part # 875) to go with your cam. And maybe some hardened chromeoly push rods while you're in there.
Keep us posted!

Are you getting a kick-back...?
:D  :D
Honestly, I plan on doing the dual roller and underdrive pulley when I change out my cam, also.
Will setting the idle higher (say 900) alleviate the charging problems at idle from the underdrive pulley?
Scott, no kick-backs but definitely satisfied with my setup. :D
The cam you're putting in shouldn't require your idle to be that high, especially with your 114 LSA. The UD pulley won't affect your charging system to the extent that you'll notice. I've noticed no charging problems since my install.
Give me a call when you're ready to do this and I'll give you the particulars on the pulley mod required to accomodate the dual roller.

I think I will send mine (pulley) to the guy that machined yours with the same instructions....
HEY, what have you heard about the 227/227 cam from Lunati??? Looks interesting. Wonder if I could get it to work with stock heads??????
