Hey guys, I weighed factory C7Z06 exhaust (x pipe and manifolds) against C5 ARH 1 7/8" stainless steel catted x-pipe and long tube headers. Although the C7 and C5 are too different platforms, the C7Z headers were not available since they are on my C7Z.
I will say this isn't an exact comparison, but it does provide an approximate example of how much weight you can save by running stainless steel headers vs a factory exhaust on a C5-C7 Corvette. I netted a total of 28 pounds in weight reduction vs factory exhaust.
I'm really not a fan of watching a video to get a shred of info like this. As I recall my stock C5Z manifolds and h-pipe were 17# heavier than my TSP long tubes and 3" catless X. I think most of that came from the cats, the long tubes themselves were about the same as the manifolds.
I don't sweat it much. I try and keep focused on positives. If the content isn't allowed it can be removed, but its good to get some C5 content up after all.
If ppl don't like some topics make suggestions for what they'd like to see. I might be able to do some interesting things for members. Thanks for watching!
