I don’t think they know what they are doing. I am suppose to pick it up tomorrow. We will see what she does. Thanks
I’d love to see the look on the face of the Tech when he test drives the car after the TC change and the car stalls again…LOL !!…I don’t know why I see 99% of owners here take their car to the dealership for repair…I don’t think they realize that dealerships are NOT owned or operated by the manufacturer…they are mostly privately owned entities and they make most of their income on service not car sales !!

I purchased the car from a dealer drove it all of two hours and it quit. It has been at the dealership since March 3rd attempting to diagnosis. It’s not costing me a dime. I may have a whole new car by the time they are done. I would not have taken any of my vettes to a dealer. It was going to be ready everyday starting Wednesday and then today. I got the call today it will be Monday. I really doubt it will be ready Monday. So disappointed as I love that car!
Just a thought-Tell them you want your money back!!! Your love of this specific car is now working against you. Besides, who will they sell it to when it will run 2mph, and stall??!!! Let them throw THEIR $$$$ at it! BTW, I own a 2000. There are plenty of 2000 models out there as nice, or nicer. Use the 2000 and older flaws against them. They do have some issues that can't be fixed with new parts. Knowledge is your friend here. Personally, I'd pass on it. If you ABSOLUTELY must have THIS car, they have an obligation to sell you a driveable car for the price they advertised, and not a penny more. If they fix it, and jack the price to cover repairs, run the other way......

I'm in agreement with grinder11. By the time they figure the problem out they will have taken so many things apart and put them back together so many times you'll have something far worse than when you bought it. And because they're trying to fix it to keep the sale they're doing it as cheaply as possible. This means the least skilled techs are working on it. This is a 22 year old vehicle and the plastics are brittle, fasteners get rusty, etc. Things are going to get broken in the process.
I once bought a used Trailblazer from a GM dealer (I'm also in Missouri, curious where you're at) and it had a check engine light. My wife and I test drove it for a day and then took it back and I asked them why they would put a car on the lot with a CEL / DTC. He agreed to have someone look at it and called me back a day or two later. Claimed the code it was setting was related to needing the throttle body cleaned. So we took it for another long test drive. When I stopped to fill it up I opened the hood and noticed the tech had forgotten to reconnect one of the PCV hoses.
Long story short, just because these are GM dealer mechanics doesn't rule out the possibility they're incompetent or careless. Some of my best friends in life are mechanics, and I wouldn't trust any of them to work on my vehicle for money because I've seen them work. Furthermore, the one mechanic I know of that I would trust to work on my C5, won't touch C5s because they're such a pain in the butt to work on. He gives me grief every time I take it in for a state inspection too even though I tip him well. FWIW
It would be very helpful to know if it's giving the "pull key wait 10 seconds" message on the DIC when it stalls, because that would diagnose the problem with fairly complete certainty.
