Have heard rumors that you need to do a relearn on your PCM after changing the intake and/or battery disconnect. Is this true or just a rumor?

My 98 took only a short time to learn that it was breathing better. However, when I took it out to move it over to my new AE it took a few WOT runs with the old stock unit back in place for it to re-learn the stock gasping for air.
