Default What the diff seal???????

swopping out another read diff on a recently purchased 02 vert with auto trans. the new diff is from a manual so I have to swop over the front plate to accommodate the auto trans. DOES ANYONE have a parts breakdown so I can first find the proper name for the seal and ring if applicable that goes in that cover and second the part number so I can order the correct seal. I have searched input seal/output seal, front cover seal on and on and can't seem to find what I need.

Man I just finished up with doing a 3:90 gear and it’s the most frustrating thing on the planet to find parts for.
I saved a ton of money but never again

The rear cover gasket is called an inspection cover gasket/ O ring. If you buy a differential cover you get one for the side.

GM Genuine Parts 24228816 Transmission Output Shaft Seal

This is the seal in between.
You may or may not need these I replaced both sides which was about $80 total.

Also make sure you have a 33mm socket for the half shaft nuts. It’s kind of an odd ball and you’ll need it.
If by chance you are messing with the torque tube you will also need a massive set of snap ring pliers.

This is the gasket I was saying goes on the side not the rear cover for ref

erence

“I replaced both sides which was about $80 total” you replaced the trans side and diff side with this seal? I attempted the job myself and a brown quark seal went into the trans side and I put this one into the diff side. Must’ve been late cause I didn’t care to dig into it this much but now I have the drip again. I appreciate any reply’s. Back to rock auto
