I replaced the battery (marginal life left in old battery) in our ‘99 FRC (110,000 miles on car). The starter was clicking and finally started after sitting for a few days. The old battery showed 14.0-14.2v on the DIC while driving. No issues once car was driven. The new battery shows 13.7-13.9v on the DIC. Tech said old battery was suspect for cranking amps. I replaced the battery with the same INTERSTATE battery as always (this has been a habit every other April for the last 10 years). For me it’s a cheap peace of mind - we often take long road trips and don’t want to get stuck in nowhere country. The car is religiously maintained and I have had no other problems🤞Gets 27-28 mpg on these trips.

Exactly what kind of help are you looking for ??…so you replaced the battery and the car still doesn’t start or something else ??
The car starts and runs fine. Just wanted assurance that 13.7-13.9v on the DIC is “normal” for a stock C5. Rather than a lengthy post - I should have just asked that question! If it isn’t normal - what should I look for as a potential problem.
That 13.7-13.9 volts on the DIC isn’t the true battery voltage that you would see at the battery terminals where you would normally check charging voltage…the DIC voltage is about .3-.4 volts lower so your charging voltage is 14.1 to 14.3 volts which is fine.
