Could someone tell me how difficult it is to change the Oil Pressure Sensor? It is reading 0 p.s.i., but I have had the Oil Pressure checked and is normal. I have been quoted $900.00 to change it by a dealership here in CA, which I think is pretty expensive! Or does anyone know of a good Corvette mechanic in the South Bay, CA.
They must be planning on replacing the intake manifold with the newer ls6 2003 model. The price at a dealership should be more like $200-250 for labor.
The sensor is located under the intake on the top back of the engine. I can pull my manifold and access the sensor in way under an hour so $900 is ridiculous.
Even swapping out the intake for the Z06 version with the different coolant cross tubes is a 2-3 hour job. You can find the manifold with hardware for $400 as a kit.
Definitely go elsewhere if you're just looking to change the sensor. :yesnod:
Thanks. I have phoned around and got another dealer to do if for $150 labor and $52 parts, so will be getting it done tomorrow. Thanks for all the help!
