Default Turn Signals working intermittently

Good Morning Everyone,

So I am having issues with my turn signals. As the title says they work intermittently. My car is an 2002 Coupe. Sometimes when I hit the lever they do not turn on. But, while the level is engaged and if I toggle/jiggle the hazard switch they turn on. Is the fix to replace the hazard switch relay that is up and behind the radio, or is there another fix that I am missing.

Thank You,
J

Yes, It's most likely the hazard switch. Kind of a pia job. Some are able to shove their hand up behind there & working blind swap it. Watch a lot of videos & decide which looks best for you. (Or just always be ready to tap the hazard switch to wake up the turn signal)

I agree, it's the hazard switch. This is a common issue on the C5. Good luck with your repair.

Replacing the hazard switch is a the fix for that issue. Installing a hyperflash harness assembly will also fix it.

4 way hazard for sure, I replaced mine last yr, it's a fishing game!!, watch video's. the stock switch w need to "punched out" it w/not just push out of the dash socket, then you'll need to drill a small hole in it & fish it thru the dash panel.
spray it good w/ silicone spray to avoid future problems..good luck, it takes an hour or so to do the job..

Before doing any work that involves forcing the switch housing out of the dash, bear in mind that the center vent plastic is 20 or more years old. If the retainer breaks it’s a rattling pain in the butt.
The design is undeniably poor, but proper replacement of the switch requires removal of the dash pad.

This is part of the reason people install a hyperflash harness. The turn signal harness is accessible after removing the knee bolster panel. Plug the hyperflash harness in and its somewhat easier than replacing the hazard switch. Also now the car is ready to upgrade to led bulbs if you choose.
