Default Identify the leak

I know this is a horrendous photo as it’s in a poorly lit parking garage, but best guesses would be appreciated.

When I got to work and got out of my 2001C5 I noticed a slight burning smell and saw a trail of liquid drops leading to underneath the engine area. This photo is of the driver side pretty much just underneath the plastic under piece and next to the driver wheel.

I’m taking to my mechanic Monday, but figured I could get some decent guesses from you all. I will have to drive home about 23 miles, all highway, later this evening. I did not hit anything during my commute to work and this is the first I’m noticing of this leak.

The fluid is Brownish/Redish in color.

The color sounds like ATF, is it an automatic? Though the location seems to be under the P/S pump.

Looks are difficult to ID, but I too assume the transmission cooler is leaking. Also, Hard to tell what color on such a rough floor, oil leaks like to travel to find the lowest point before dropping off ?

Yeah, oil will travel a lot with even just a drop. The color you mention sounds a lot like ATF like mentioned and the spot it's coming from to me would be the power steering area. Either the pump, high pressure hose or the steering rack has an issue. Check your power steering level before you leave work. If it's to low it will let you know by the whining noise it will make.

Yeah, check your power steering. I bet that is the culprit.
