How do you stop a seat from sliding back & forth while driving?

How do you stop a seat from sliding back & forth while driving?
The driver's side seat in my C5 slides forward about 1/4 of an inch everytime I brake hard. When I accelerate it slides back the same amout. Has anybody seen this?
How can I fix it?

You need new seat rails.... this is a Tech Bulletin issue. Mine was just repaired under warranty for the same thing. If you have an extended warranty, you're set. Not sure what it costs to have it done if not warranty.

Anybody knows a way to fix it on your own. Not under warranty, but would sure like to find a way to fix it. :confused:

Condition: Some customers may comment on excessive movement in the driver seat during vehicle acceleration and braking.
Correction: A new seat adjuster assembly has been released to correct this condition. Replace the adjuster assembly.

here is a link to the TSB. may be in other places also. Haven't sen anyone selling used seats lately, but you might try a salvage yard for a late model take-out seat to get the track. I just had my 98 fixed at 36K miles.. Would have cost $675.. Thank god for GMPP!

Hey guys, I had the same problem, now i have it with the passenger seat. The last time warranty covered it , it would have cost 850.00 with labor per seat. That should be against the law!! mega1
