We saw that you only tried to retighten the gas cap so a P0442 is a “small” leak…you can try replacing the gas cap with preferably an OEM one but not making any promises the cap will fix it.

It is also the one that is used most often.....

To the OP-I still have my OEM, 23 year old gas cap. I think one area guys may have trouble with is how they tighten it. As you know, like most any other cap, the C5 cap ratchets/slips, etc. I screw mine down until it just starts to ratchet, back it up a half turn, then rapidly twist it tight. Never an issue. What I HAVE had an issue with is the EVAP hose on the intake. Plastic gets old and brittle, then cracks, causing a leak/vacuum leak. I replaced mine with a length of black fuel line. No more issues. BTW.... Nice offer, Rob...

If someone here needs their car fixed right they have to seek out the right type of shop…general repair shops and dealerships ain’t it…LOL !!

Problem Resolved!! I removed the o ring from gas gas, cleaned the area well and reinstalled the o ring upside down. Has been fine now for about 10 days and at least 25 starts. Hope this helps someone with the same issue.
