E-chromatic rearview mirror - can you force it on?
Is there any way to force the electrochromatic rearview mirror to stay in the dim mode whenever it is dark out? It seems to me you can force it to stay bright, but not the other way around. This can be annoying in a convertible with the top up since the rear window is small - the mirror doesn't detect headlights from as many angles as the other models and thus the mirror is frequently changing modes, treating the driver to headlight glare from behind several times per night drive.
Assuming that I didn't just miss something in the owners manual (yes, I read it cover to cover when I got my car, but I will not claim I have the best memory), how hard would it be to rewire or add a resistor to trick the mirror into staying dimmed whenever it's dark?

Anyone? Anyone?
Bueller?
I find it hard to believe no one is looked into this. Sorry if I'm being impatient - heck, with the amount of snow currently on the ground where I live and temps above freezing nowhere in sight, I've got months to figure this one out. Will I be a pioneer if I implement a solution? :skep:

:iagree: I don't like this feature either. If the dim feature had a "constant on" mode, it would be much better. I almost wish it simply had the flip switch like in most other cars.
