I know here is lot of discussions about high cooling system, but I was susch a issue, when I was driving in a highway then some time I look in dashboard was red warning light “coolant temp high”. I stoped car and looks radiator fan not working. I fill coolant tank and drove nearby service.
They found that ECU does mot signal to fan, they replaced it, but problem did not solved. After that fan works, but problem is when I ride in highway then engine temp goes up 240F and when I stop car not engine then temp goes down.
Servise says that they cheked all cooling system sensors and those works and service guys think need to take of engine head blocks and brush it.
My question is have more options what I can check before that work?
can it be air in coolant system?
PS! I install front aftermarket front bumper lip, can it be? 😊
The c5 corvette draws air from the bottom of the front bumper, front splitters prevent this from happening. Cooling fans are turned off above 35mph, but should come on after bringing the car to a stop if the temperature setpoints are exceeded.
I agree with mmartinez. Verify you have a full cooing system and then remove your lip and reinstall the 3 part air dam as your first step in problem solving. These cars pull air from below the bumper at road speeds.
Hi, tanx guys for help. I removed yesterday that lip and that was it 😊. Everything works.
I wonder that Corvette service not found that about a week and now I save 4k€ 😊
