Default HELP!! Can't remove the Steering Wheel

I am trying to remove my steering wheel, getting ready for Ken King wheel, and I can't get the wheel to budge. I have taken off the module, removed the steering wheel nut and have tightened the steering wheel puller down as tight as I dare. I even applied Liquid Wrench.

Anybody else have this problem?? Any suggestions??

Thanks

They are tough sometimes, You are using the Correct puller? I broke one of the legs on the GM type puller one time tring to remove one. You might try removing the puller, starting the nut back on to protect the threads and use your knees and one hand to pull back on the wheel while you hit the nut with a big hammer, I know that sounds drastic but it might just break it loose enough for the puller to finish it off........ :banghead:

I just did mine last month...and it was a bitch to get off. :mad I broke 2 sets of GM puller legs!...and then I got a tip from a forum member. Heat. ;) Use a mini torch to heat the aluminum part of the wheel around the shaft. :yesnod: I also made my own puller legs from grade 8 3/8" bolts. If you need pics, send me an IM.

Good luck.  :seeya

I'd be careful heating that like that, but if it worked for you it's probably OK. I say that because just behind the steering wheel is the air bag coil which is a long thin plastic strip that is coiled up inside a plastic case, it transfers the electrical circuit between the wheel and the column and coils/uncoils as the wheel turns, It's a very fragile part

I admire your strength. I was pulling and shaking the wheel like I was havin a fit. I don't think I would ever have gotten if off without the GM legs and puller.

I am just thankful it decided to let me win!

I had a puller snap the other week, I tried every trick in the book and I couldn't get it off, I ended up cutting the wheel off!! :nonod:
Looks to me like these pullers aren't strong enough.

Ken, I agree! I went thru 2 legs before it decided to let go. I wasn't about to cut it- I would take to dealer and swallow my ego. I want that thing to be perfect when I send it to you for exchange. :D

I couldn't believe how hard it was to get off, though.

Thanks for your excellent products, I am so excited about getting my new Ken King interior. :hurray:
