Most of you know that I blew a head gasket on my new Stroker Engine with nitrous and damaged 2 Pistons back in May 2002 about 2 weeks after the Birthday Bash at BG. A lot of things have happened between May and Nov. I got the car back in Nov and was able to get back to the track for some testing on motor N/A. I took it easy on the car and Launched the car at 1500 rpm. After a little tweaking, I was able to get the car back in the 10s on Pump Gas. Except for some idling problems, the car ran good.
This has been a real ordeal for me(And Wade). I was going to post the Good and Bad of what happened, but I don't like to dwell on the past and the Bottom Line is Wade took care of me and I thank him for this. I have talked to other Forum members about their engine problems with other Tuners and all the engine builders/tuners have had their share of problems, Bar none. When you modify any car at this level, things can happen and I would recommend ARE for your engine upgrades.
I will be running N/A for a while and have installed some 4:10s in my car. I just want to have some fun and will see you at BG this year.

Re: Update on ARE 422 (Tom Hall)
TOM:
Just noticed now that you broke into the 10s on motor only recently through your A4!   That is a huge accomplishment no doubt, especially in a A4 with the tricky tuning and dialing in the tranny to hold all the power, etc.
Did you get the 10 sec. time slip with the 4.10s or another gear ratio. Also, what tranny are you running and is your car holding the power well. Do you ever spank the rev limiter on motor only at WOT since getting the car back Naturally aspirated?

I got the 10.86 last May. I had 3:42s and 28" Hoosiers. I had a Yank Tranny at that time. I now have a ARE Tranny. I have no times yet with the 4:10s.
I haven't had any problems with hitting the rev limiter N/A. I have read that some were having problems with that. I have LS1 Edit to adjust the shift points, although it seems to work only on the mph part and the rpm doesn't seem to have any effect on shift points.

Yep, this will be my last week of running at the strip hard b/c the CCW's and Nitrous will be removed from my Big Bore. I am happy with N/A power and will go more for looks now...
Tom, it is great to hear you finally have your beast back in your hands! I look forward to seeing what kind of N/A times you can pull off this upcoming season!! See you at the Cruise-in in May!
