After getting the Notorious service traction control light and after viewing several YouTube videos on how to repair it AND after removing it from the car I realized something wasn’t right. So my question to you all is…… is this repairable. It’s a 2000 coupe built in early 2000.
I'd replace the relays at a minimum. Inspect all the solder joints for cracks, especially at any connectors.
If you're not experienced at soldering on pcbs find one to practice on. Pretty much any electronic gadget has one. Easy to apply too much heat and melt stuff you don't want melted.
It is possibly to desolder the upper card and replace the two big main relays on this card . I used a soldering iron with vacuumpump to perform this job.
The lower card is not possible to do anything with .
You have to be carefull with heat from the soldering iron. I had to rebuild some of the paths shown on the last photo
I'll plead ignorance. What is that? On 2000 models, there are limited fixes you can do on the EBCM, if this is the EBCM.....
If this is the EBCTM ? If your familiar with the two kind of ABS modules you would have recognized the parts is 97-00 EBCTM electronic part.
Depending on the errorcode these relays can be replaced with some soldering skills .
But if you got code C1255 on any ABS unit from 97-04 the eletronic parts is likely junk on all years .
On 01-04 you can replace one relay and resolder some bad solderings on the electronic card (C1214 code). This relay has not the same quality as the 97-00 relays when you see the number
of relay replacements been done ( I have replaced the relay on three cars myself 01-04 cars) .
I have not seen anyone reporting reporting this kind of relay problems on the 97-00 models since I got my 00 model eight years ago

How do you access this area? Someone asked how you cracked the case open. I thought the '97-'00 EBCMs weren't repairable at all. I definitely want to stay ignorant as to what that part is, if you know what I'm saying!!!
