Hello! I couldn’t find a solution in the forum and was wondering if someone had some experience with this. So every time I try to cruise at about 150mph plus, the windows pop out, first the passenger one, then the driver’s. It’s extremely annoying and not nice of course. Basically I have to wait until I go slow again to roll the windows down and up again for them to reseat.
is that what the plastic things outside the windows are for? It seems so but they don’t seem to work well anymore for me. I have a 2000 base C5
.

Yep, you got it. You will need to adjust them (actually bent them) down to hold you window in place. You will need to remove your window seals and be careful as if you bent too far, your window will hit when you close the door.
Now, also adjust your internal HVAC to blow from internal air at a lower setting verses pulling air from your cowl at a higher setting. You are dealing with unequal air pressure (Higher inside than out) which is "sucking" you windows out. That can be somewhat mitigated by lowering the internal, higher pressure.
It may be the blow out clip as you mention, but this only is effective if the window is properly adjusted.
You may need to check your window adjustments for both height and in/out adjustment (using the jackscrew adjustment at the bottom of the doors). I believe there are YouTube videos showing both of these adjustments. (Sorry - cannot get links for you with my phone, but these should be a fairly easy find).
Best wishes that this will address your window flex - otherwise you may have to limit your top end to 149.5 mph.
Work on window tip-in and bending the stops, as above. There may also be an issue with the window regulators not lifting the window high enough, where they need adjustment too.
Thanks all, will try to do the adjustment of the window first. Because also when I close the door with the windows down I do hear like something might be loose. I thought it’s something with the trim, but might be the window.
They never pop back in in my experience. I reached 270kmh (I guess close to 170mph) and they are still blowing air.
Btw I only do this when I go to Germany, on a fresh Sunday morning at sunrise, you get empty highways, no speed limit, and it’s kind of amazing. This car behaves very well. It is quite stable but it does seem that above 250kmh it’s gets king of light in the front. Maybe I should try lowering a bit on the stock suspension. And apart from the window problem, it behaves nicely. Great machine really.

I remember reading an article on high speed testing with C5's when they were new, and the testers ended up having the windows duck taped all around to stop them popping out at speed.

The car's front end does get a bit floaty at high speed. This is due to air pressure building up under the hood. Lowering only helps with that so much. The car is a bottom breather, so unless you change it to a front breather, you have to let air under the car. Adding hood vents (or getting an aftermarket vented hood) is the best way to fix the front end lift issue at high speed, You can also get 3D printed pieces that make the side "gills" functional. This allows the high pressure air that builds up in the wheel wells to escape. These two things together will really help keep the front end planted at 250 KPH.
Mine popped out at 120 on my test drive when I bought my car. I was going to try and use it as a point to get the dealer down some on price. Well when we went back out, got it up to 80 and it still wasn't doing it I abandoned that endeavour. To that point I had it in my head it was happening at a much lower speed.
