After my current GM harmonic balancer failed with less than 10,000 miles in just under 2 years, I am looking at buying an ATI harmonic balancer. Does anyone have the part number for the ATI balancer which fits the stock setup of the car? I have a 2002 coupe with the M6 transmission which is completely umodified, and I am not looking to increase power or install any sort of performance modifications.
ATI, ASP, Summit, and Jegs all have quality balancers. Depending on your location, I'd either go with a stock, or 10% UD balancer. With a good aftermarket radiator, like DeWitts and living in the Northern states, you could go with a 25% UD.
I also called ATI and they said that either the ARP bolt 234-2503 or a new OEM GM bolt can be used with the aforementioned balancer. They also said they recommend red Loctite on both bolts, even over ARP's lubricant which comes with the bolt.

I went with the ARP bolt, for my car, but I'd seriously question using red Loctite. Going that route is about one step below welding the bolt in place.........

I TOTALLY agree on red loctite! OP-DO NOT USE RED Loctite!!!!!!! It used to be called "Stud and Bearing Mount. This stuff is WAY to hard to remove. It has its place, but this isn't it!! I don't use any Loctite. I use an ARP bolt, and tighten with my 1/2" drive Air impact. It has never slipped or come loose. You can't remove a fastener that has been mounted with red Loctite unless heat is used, which makes a balancer toast.....
Are you doing the HB yourself? I see you are in Illinois. I can lend you the tools if you would like to torque the ARP bolt per the instructions. I'm in the NW burbs of Chicago. As long as you have a 1/2" drive torque wrench and a breaker bar pretty straitforward, see pic. I also have the proper tools to remove and reinstall the HB. You can also pin the HB if you are ever going to put any kind of blower on your car. I could ship the tools and then you could ship them back, depending on where you live.
Nothing wrong with any Summit brand parts or tools. I went with a Fluidampenr as they are made in the USA.

Having work done at a shop, thanks for the offer though!
