My wife and I have a 2001 corvette that has a couple of problems.
forst one is the DIC buttons have stopped working at all they do not work. The display on the cluster still works just can’t clear it or anything. I have scanned the car with my snap on chrome scanner and my elcheapo scanners there are no codes
second problem is not for some reason at night the headlights come up and stay up till you turn the car off then they go down. In the daytime they work as they should.
A couple of months ago I did the dim hvac repair and added a aftermarket radio to the car. They are working fine. But I’m putting this out here just in case it’s something to do with this problem.
car runs and drives excellent otherwise. Only has 57k miles.
thanks In advance for any help. Charles
The headlight issue sounds like you have twilight sentinel (automatic headlights) activated. They will turn on and off automatically. Once you get the DIC switches figured out, you can access that feature to turn it off if you don't like it.
Welcome to the forum!! I agree that your headlights are functioning normally as though twilight sentinel is active. This can be turned off through the DIC if you can get it working. Unfortunately, electrical gremlins are all too common on these cars. A new battery might help, but there's no guarantee. You may want to try posting this in the C5 Tech section of the forum. Good luck!
Start with the basics. Fuses. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and see if that resets things.
did that left it disconnected for over a week. and the battery is less than 6 months old. I checked all the fuses and couldn’t find anything wrong there either. Thanks for the reply
