So, I've searched and read most if not all of the old threads... The 2004 car is certainly NOT deleted by just the BCM RPO update. I have a tech 2 & tis2000 but I'm having an issue with how to flash/update all the modules without the F55.
The BCM just wants to do the security relearn & that's not what I want to do either??
When I store the PCM info on the tech 2 & then load into the Tis2000, it won't let me proceed because it see's that the current version is the latest version the Tis2000 database has. Gives an "error" that not allowed to update to the same version. So, I can't even get to the next screen in order to add/remove RPOs??
So, if anyone has the hot poop on how to get this done I'd appreciate the info. I've disabled F45/55 on other C5's with my tech 2 no problem. Folks with 2004 it IS more complicated.
ECM may needs to be flashed back to its stock version with what every software you used to tune the car in the first place (you did save the stock file, before you started change the tune, correct). Also, make sure tune is not locked, since it will block both Tis2000 and even Tech2win every time. As for the custom tune in the ecm now, once the ecm has been flashed back to stock without F55, will need to do change the oem tune to the new perimeters, and not just flash back in the old custom tune.
As for when you use TIS200, use replace and program the ECM to start with. This will make sure that when the firmware is flashed for any module, TIS2000 will also check all the modules to make sure they are on the correct BCM security code as well.
All, I can fully 100% confirm that F55 can be removed on a 2004 simply by deleting the option with a TECHII, @njpete19 just had his done at Paramus Chevy about two months ago, easy process, no issues.
Case closed.

Dano0, car currently has factory "tune".... and TIS indicates it is the correct/latest version for the vin. Won't allow me an option of a non-F55 version. Just says, "can't update to save version" and won't enable the next button.
Vader, your profile shows you have a 2003 car. They are NOT a problem to turn off with a Tech2. I've done several cars for folks of various years. This is the first 2004 to show up & it HAS been disable by my tech2 but it still has the 80MPH error.

As mentioned in my post, it wasn't my car, it is my friend's car who has a 2004; I witnessed it firsthand, with my own eyes - TECHII programed out F55. The work was done at Paramus Cheverolet by their Corvette Tech.

Good morning! I can confirm that the F55 was programmed out fully and successfully on my 2004 Convertible. I had the C6 Z06 shocks installed. What a difference. And the car goes well over 80mph (on a closed course, of course!)
njpete. Can you give me contact info for who performed the program out? I need to get the exact steps for getting it out of the PCM/TCS/ABS modules. BCM, is done and when I check, shows "not selected" in the RPO screen of my Tech2. Car still has the 80mph error.
The other modules however supposedly take flash/updates & my Tis2000 software doesn't seem to want to let me do that.

This can't be that expensive of a procedure, or is it? I know dealers aren't cheap......
A real Bosch MDI is about $2K and the dealer is paying about $6k every year for GMSI, TDS and other GM software, so why they charge about $150 for just using the software on the car. Plus, although the programming is only a few mins (use of such above), you still have the tech writings that have to write up the invoice, the accounting paperwork and such, so why they charge the min of 1 hour in the end.
On the other hand, thanks to the "Farmers verse John Deer", where congress passed the "right to repair electric act", you have the legal clone tools with free software to use, that is cheaper to buy than just one trip to the dealer.
This link doesn't mention F55. Is it the same for a 2004 C5?
Trying to find someone in Phoenix area? anyone?
I got a quOte from a shop for $300 to do it. looks like the tool costs $200! other forums say it should cost $25 to remove it?
Will I need to plug in the old shocks to do it? I've already had them replaced.
Great to know. I got a quote from a shop to do it for $300, the tool costs $200 on amazon.
Im trying Freeway Chevrolet in AZ now. thanks bud! already replaced the shocks
