I did the PCV Mod yesterday but the hose was too big and the filter wasnt point down and could have easily hit one of the belts...wasnt the best install...so I redid it.
Here are pics...Thanks for everyones advice from my other thread! Really helped out a lot!!
Let me know what you think.
Re: Re-did PCV MOD...How does it look?? (MRWHOOPPEE)
lot better
why didn't you use black hose ?
I went to Home Depot and asked for a oil line hose...all they had that would fit the brass fitting was this high pressure air hose. Its just double thick...it has a black hose in the inside surronded by the orange on the outside...so its pretty thick.
I wanted a black one but figured this would work either way.
I believe the arrow on the filter head is pointing toward the hose that goes to
the rear of the passenger side valve cover. In my opinion you got it backwards the arrow on the filter should point toward the intake manifold.

Do you mean the arrow should point towards the manifold or point towards the hose that goes to the manifold???
The arrow shows direction of air flow for the filter, it should flow from the PVC valve to the intake manifold.
I can't see which way the arrow is pointed in your picture (and I am to lazy to go look at mine - it is also raining outside in not so sunny san diego county this am), but it should be pointed towards the right side of your car - which is "towards the hose that goes to the intake manifold".
Those red hoses would look good on my red car....

In my opinion it matters. the filter was designed to pass air and filter in a certain direction thats why they cast an arrow in the head of the filter. It will probably take all of 5 minutes to turn the filter around if it was me I would do it. I can tell from the photos you posted its in backwards. Look at the directions that came with the filter. Directions tell you to position arrow in
the direction of air flow.
I don't think the filter will work properly if installed backwards.
If you think about it, it makes sense. The PCV mod is done to stop oil from entering the intake, therefore the flow direction through the pipe is into the manifold. This means that the arrow on the filter should point to the hose that connects into the intake manifold. Looking at the pictures of your install, you should have the arrow pointing to the passenger side.
Umm... why not get the proper fittings to turn the corner correctly out of the filter and eliminate all the extra hose run all around? Just curious. :yesnod:
I haven't done the Mod myself, but it does look like a lot of hose. I think the reason people are getting mixed up is because one person calls it a PCV mod, and another person calls it a PVC mod.   :lolg: :lolg:
