I know this info has been around forever but please do me a favor and point me to a company that will rebuild a 1998 ECBM. I note that EBSfixer and others only do 2001 and up. Thanks in advance.

Man....it SUCKS to be the guy whose EBCM just failed. It's almost as bad being the guy to tell you there are no companies fixing the '97-'00 EBCMs. I have a 2000, and I've tried to be proactive, because my EBCM hasn't failed......Yet! But with almost 140,000 miles on mine, its getting closer all the time. I have found no such companies. It doesnt mean someone, somewhere hasnt figured out a way to save/repair the unit, but I've had no luck. Sorry...

Thanks for the information. I can find no one who will rebuild the EBCM. The best I can find are used ones for up to $2,000. You spend $2K plus labor and it may fail in a week if it works at all. Can a tuner "tune out" the fault code?
