Default 2004 Neg Battery Cable Broke

Below is a pic of the broken neg battery terminal clamp....you might be able to see that the ring that goes around the bolt head is not complete. The result is that I do not have a tight clamp on the battery terminal.
So far all I have found is that the GM part is discontinued.
Have checked several Corvette parts houses....nothing.
Anyone here come-up with an alternative?.....care to share....????

This is what I replaced mine recently on my ‘08…POOR design and the GM Engineer who designed these should be fired…I replaced both with these superior gold plated terminals from Duralast that you can pick up at Autozone…around $30.00 for both !!

Does the replacement have to be original appearance? I see 88987122 as unobtainable, but Standard Motor Products has A364UT which should be functional, and not as sketchy as a universal cable end. $15 on Amazon.

C5 Diag - I agree about the POOR design. Hey any chance you still have those two ends you cut off? I could use them. I was going to just cut-off the end, put a old style battery clamp on...but as you can see in the picture, the wire is too short to do this. Splicing in wire of that gauge would not be easy. Let me know if you still have those ends.

redzg - I might have to go that route.

Have to ask Vettenuts what he has in the yard.

I am assuming that the broken ring on my negative terminal can be replaced; is this correct?
If so, then......
AAARRRGGGHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!

In case I just replace the negative cable, does anyone happen to know the length of the negative battery cable?
