Lingenfelter LNC-003 Launch Controller / 2 Step Problem
So, I wired in my LNC-003 per the instructions that came with it and then spent about a week dealing with a no-crank problem. Eventually I traced the problem down to the way that Lingenfelter wants you to wire in the LNC-003. The way their instructions tell you to wire it, the wire going from your Clutch Position Switch through your Anti-Theft Relay to the Starter Solenoid loses power when cranking.
On paper it looks great, push the clutch in, that completes the circuit in the CPS and sends power to the relay and to the LNC-003. Another issue with this is that the purple wire going TO the CPS is only hot when cranking. So that won't work either. But if you were to hook +12v keyed power to the CPS every time you pushed the clutch in the starter would engage as well.... Any suggestions on how to actually make this work before I rip it out completely?
Bypass the clutch safety switch by hooking up the two wires together and wire up the switch as a ground activation point or install a separate microswitch. I went with the second option and wasnt happy how it came out.
So I called LPE this morning and they seemed to not really be aware of the problem so I emailed them a detailed description of the issue and copies of the Clutch Pedal Position Switch schematics from the GM Technical Manual so their engineers could "look into it". I have my doubts that they will though.
