I have a '98 Corvette convertible power antenna that I'd like to test to see if the motor is working. I replaced my antenna some time back but I don't recall the reason. The antenna I have doesn't seem to have the mast in it so I'm thinking it broke and fell out. So, I'd like to post it for sale but I want to test it to see if the motor works in both directions. If someone could provide a schematic, that would help. It's got a black, orange, and pink. I don't want to simply guess that the pink and orange are the power wires, one for up and the other for down unless someone can confirm that is how it operates. In that case, I won't need a schematic. Any help is appreciated. I'm in no hurry to sell it, I just want to provide an honest description of it when I do list it. It just may simply need a new mast. Thanks for looking.
I think I figured this out. The black is ground, the red is constant power, and the pink is energized when the radio is turned on. This pink wire, when energized, causes the antenna to go up. When the radio is turned off, the pink wire is de-energized, and the constant power on the red wire provides power to bring the antenna down. It works like I believe it should. Not sure what it's worth but I'm not trying to make a killing on parts. I see too much of that on all the forums I'm a member of. If anyone is interested, let me know, otherwise I'll post it in the For Sale section. Thanks for looking.
