New to the forum (old to the world 74 yrs old)... My drivers side headlight won't come up. No noise , no motor engagement. I unfortunately broke the manual raise ****. Is there a way to remove the headlight cover while in the down position . Any and all other suggestions would be most appreciated. Driving around with only one eye isn't good !!Thank you in advance. PS: my Model T is far less complicated .. Bob
TO ALL, Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I was able to open the headlight. I broke the plastic **** to manually open the light. I drilled the plastic stem and threaded an easy out in to it. I was able to open the headlight cover. Now I can access the motor. While I have it open I'm going to replace the headlights. They are original to the car. 23 years old.
THANKS TO ALL
What Corvette?
The service manual references removing the headlight bezel before you can get the cover off so if your manual raise **** is broken and the headlight won't pop up on its own it's going to be a challenge. Do you own an angle grinder? Pry bar? Plasma cutter?
Thought: Try wiggling the wire connection between the HL motor and the Control Module. If it still does not go up, then separate the connection and clean the connectors making sure they fit tight. Hopefully this will work for you. It did for mine.
In a thought of causing anymore damage, take the car to your favorite body shop and let them remove the headlight assembly, and rebuild the entire headlight with new gears and a new manual raise ****.
