Default Hvac non responsive. Replaced actuator.

Replaced the hvac electric actuator for blend box. Car only has the one on the driver side. Manuel hvac system (not dual climate)

Recharged the Freon 134a, used stop leak with red dye. (Didn't change anything)

Vacuum lines appear to be connected and functioning when switching between defrost, upper, lower, mix.

The lines coming from compressor are cold, compressor turns on when pushing the button.

Water is dripping from system under car.

Air used to be cold on passenger side and hot on driver side. After replacing the actuator. It is hot on both sides. Does not react to changes on hvac temp control system when turning hot or cold.

On a single control system half hot half cold sounds like low refrigerant — the expanding refrigerant is apparently literally reaching only half of the evaporator core. The cold line and dripping condensation could very well mean the recharge was effective, but the actuator change may have made things worse. I suspect either a bad or incorrect actuator or possibly a need to index.

I am going to change the actuator.
I used a dorman product #604-106.

I checked the line pressure and had the line bled. It did not change anything.

I used a scope and the doors are not moving when changing the temp.

I’ve pulled the fuse many times. Not sure if there is another way to reset or index.

Removed actuator and moved the blend door by hand. Air flowed cold through all vents. Going to try a different actuator.

So set the door for cold, and leave it out for now?
many, many members will not consider using any Dorman product. I tend to shoot for ACDelco first, then Standard Motor Products second.
I see Rock has the GM actuator for $45

It was the wrong actuator.

Different pins between auto and manual system. Won’t communicate. Pin #8 is different between the auto and Manual actuators.

swapped in the different actuator. (Manuel hvac system actuator product number 604-107 for reference). Fixed the issue now blows cold in all vents.

You can always calibrate the doors after the new actuator is installed.
