Greetings, I am thinking of upgrading my C5 Coupe to a C7 Coupe. I have been told that the C7 Base Coupes do not come with sway bars. Is this true? If so Can you add sway bars? I find this to be ridiculous if true and might be a deal breaker for me. I added some sweet sway bars to my C5 and just love the way it handles. Please advise.
I have moved from a C5 (did C6 sways and shocks on it) to a C7. I am now back in a C5 Z06 so far all stock underpinnings.
The base C7 does not have a rear sway bar. It has a moderate sized front sway bar. The way the transverse springs operate acts as a form of anti sway but of course is limited and not tunable.
When I had a C7 I added the front and rear bars from the Z06 platform. Bolted right up but make sure you get the end links and hardware. My parts came from a salvaged car and were not damaged in any way. It did improve the handling and my car did have magnetic adjustable ride which I highly recommend. Also if you get one with mag ride be aware there were software updates sold at dealers that really improved it in touring mode.
