Default oil pressure vs temperature

Engine is a forged 383 with an A&A blower. 2.5 qt. DRM oil cooler. Not sure what the rad is.
So after a session on track my coolant gets to about 230-240, oil temp gets up to about 185 at the discharge from the cooler. I estimate about a 20 degree drop through the cooler so probably 200-210 before the cooler. Oil pressure drops to about 25psi at this point.
I can't get a good look at oil pressure through the RPM range during a session as revs change faster than oil pressure could keep up. I'm using the oem gauge.
Cold oil pressure at idle is about 45psi and drops to about 35psi once at normal operating temps.
My question is should I be going from W30 to W40?
I did go with a bit looser main bearing clearances to allow for heat/RPM.
Appreciate any input!

Sounds like a question for the builder, how loose did you go vs stock?

That is a good question. I'd have to look at the spec sheet. I'm pretty sure that was recorded.

How about an inexpensive mechanical gage and action camera during a run?
There are so many oil reference web sites now it’s difficult to find time to read many of them. Pretty common rule of thumb is bigger clearances allow for higher viscosity. Along those lines, I seem to recall a recent Engine Masters episode showed that 10W40 did not reduce HP in an engine built for high HP.

I spoke to a friend that just bought a Thompson Motorsports LS7 and they told him because of the valve train noise, bigger cam, and larger tolerances that they recommend Valvoline 5W50. So I did an oil change and SO FAR i'm happier with what I've been seeing.
I did some standing mile racing over the weekend and everything looked good. I'm back to the road course tomorrow so I'll see how things look after a session.

Thanks for your input!
