Has anyone here had a dealer address the "service selective ride control" message on the DIC? If so, what did they have to do and how much did they charge? I just had my rear shocks replaced with OEM shocks designed for my 2004 convertible's F45 magnetic ride control system. After an hour or so of driving I noticed the "service selective ride control" message. My mechanic can't figure out what's wrong. I really want the F45 system to work. That's why I spent 2K on the rear shocks. I've looked at most all of the threads here that address this problem but can't get a definitive answer. It seems that no one has had a Chevy dealer address the problem. I have a dealer in town but would like some input from forum members before I commit to having them fix the problem.
If you have a 2004 you should have the F55 ride control which is for the 03-04…did you install the right part number shock ??…look at your RPO codes in your glovebox…does it say F45 or F55 ??…what trouble codes do you have ??..OEM parts numbers for an 01 rear shocks with F45 below.

Since you just had rear shocks replaced I would double check everything in that area. Like did one of the links get knocked off the ride height sensors or something not plunged in all the way?
Was F45 even available after 2002? The Black Book says F55 replaced it.
Maybe F45 & F55 used the same part numbers? @Smoken1 where is that picture from?

Just a picture that I got online to show the ride height sensors.
GM Parts direct shows those sensors discontinued for the 04 cars

By your coment I'm guessing that picture is wrong and the F55 system does not use those sensors?
I don't know. The thing that stood out to me about the picture is it says 97-04 F45 but I don't think F45 was available in 03-04.
Maybe all the physical parts are the same and the F55 is just different software?
Summit has this shock for an 04 that supposedly works with FE1, FE2, or F55 suspension packages. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado-19431689
But they don't seem to have anything for an 02 with active suspension, which would be the F45. I'd be suspicious of any fitment claims from Summit, some of the photos look like stock photos of stuff that doesn't look remotely right.
GM Parts Direct has a pretty long list of components but most of them are discontinued. https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/v-2004...ear-suspension
about halfway down that page are some sensors but they are not shown in the exploded view and thus have no number from that view.
As far as the OP's problem I have no idea what's causing that message. Wrong shock, bad sensor, something else completely? Hopefully Rob can get them on the right path.
Thanks for the info. You are right about my 2004 having the F55 ride control. My mechanic ordered the OEM shocks from our local dealer using the car's VIN code and is sure they are correct. They said the codes they pulled indicated that the problem is in the rear shocks (which they just replaced) and are researching a fix for my problem.

Sounds like one of three possible things. One would be a defective new shock, another would be one of the old front shocks has gone bad, or lastly, something in the harness or connectors. Best of luck to you.......

Problem has been resolved. Turns out that one of the new 1K shocks was defective. Had it replaced under warranty and all is well. Thanks to everyone for their input.
