Long story: My 2000 FRC sat for about 22 years (06-18) and when I ran it again my ECBM no longer worked and I got the dreaded lights, no traction control, etc…64k on the clock at the time. No bueno.
In 2018, I shipped it to CA and I began to have it recommissioned both inside and mechanically (primarily by AHP) who did an absolute killer job. The only thing we could not resolve was (obviously) my unrepairable 2000 EBCM which we sent to Detroit to repair to no avail, replaced it to no avail, at which point I *think* we put the original back in and punted on it, this was like 2020 when the car was done.
Anyway, last week, after about 800 miles since 2020 (I do not drive it much) lo and behold…out of the blue…no more lights on the dash, traction control engages, I can put it in sport mode, turn it on and off. Everything is completely Zen. Which is great when you have 700 N/A HP to manage with 4:10’s.
No Jinx. Totally crazy. Very Happy. Thought I would share.
a couple times after long term storage the one in my 2000 wasn't working when I got the car back out, but thankfully started working again after some "aggressive driving - the second time it took a few weeks. driving. Since then, I swap the brake fluid in the car out every year and exercise the pump on occasion when I'm not driving that car. (there are a numbner of good threads on ways to "exercise" the pump). no issues in thge 4-5 years since I started doing this.
It was definitely during some aggressive driving. With so much HP to manage driving it, it is always a bit aggressive just by nature but as the rear 305’s were hopping, barking and spinning at like under 30 MPH — all of a sudden traction control kicked back. I was like WTF !?
Still not used to seeing my display with no CEL’s.
