'03 Z06 w/LS3 crate. Just got my fancy Katech Belt Tensioner, installing new Gates Serpentine belt and figured while I'm at it I might as well change the Idler Pulley. Any recommendations for a good quality unit? Car is mostly track duty so I don't want to cheap out. Been thinking AC Delco but I'm open to other brands. Any brand to avoid? TIA.

I've had my OEM tensioners in place since new, with only one issue. I knew the A/C idler was wearing out, as it was on a slight angle. Well, I had it replaced when I had a new compressor/drier/condenser installed. Now I have a squeaking up front somewhere. IDK what brand idler the shop used, but guessing it's not OEM. So, also guessing that the new tensioner is the culprit. I recommend OEM, because mine went 130,000+miles in 22 years. Hope this helps......
Found one local at the last remaining REAL autoparts store in my region, Rieth Autoparts in Mesa. Gates 36225, made in Canada. NOT China. About $40 with tax. Installed it, new Gates belt and Katech tensioner. On to the next project.
When mine went and was screeching I had a hell of a time finding the right OEM unit. I opened up the seal on the old one, filled it with grease, pounded it closed and it has worked ever since.
