Default MSD fitment in LS7 C5.....

Hope this is the right section to post this. As some know, I have an LS7 in my '00 vert. After reading of fitment issues with the MSD intake, in the C6 Z06 section, I'm curious if anyone with an LS7 in their C5 has successfully installed an MSD with no issues? Will it even fit? Thought I'd try here first, before calling around. Thanks, guys.....

I found this. Looks like a bit of fitment required

The pictures in that thread still show very close clearances. Need to account for motor movement under load as well.

Stiffer/lower motor mounts could help. Look into AMT Race mounts that are 3/8" lower than stock height. Might get you the room you need.

Yes, good point on the torque twisting the engine. I thought of that, too. Thank you for the recommendations. Much appreciated....

It is super tight. I even tried the Hinsen mounts but it is actually lower with the stock motor mounts - so went back to those.

It “fits” but the hood does actually touch/rub the intake when the hood is shut.

That's not good! Did you have to cut the firewall? I thought the Hinson mounts were supposed to be lower? Sounds like you need altered mounts and cradle spacers both, at least....

I'm running an LS7 in my C5Z along with an MSD intake. I previously already had Hinson 3/8 mounts installed so can't attest to fitment prior to that.
However on this combination I have plenty of room between the firewall and the intake. I did cut the firewall like the link shown below because it was a no brainer for me while the motor was out of the car and easily accessed to. Fabbed up a cover as well to keep fumes from going into the cabin. The hood doesn't rub nor does the intake on the firewall during load. It seems every car is different though so use your best judgement.
